St. Elizabeth Area Catholic School promotes and nurtures Gospel values. Students learn to become good stewards and grow to be caring, thoughtful, empathetic persons. Our students take ownership of their faith as they plan the school’s weekly Masses and serve as ushers, lectors, cantors, children’s choir members and altar servers. Students lead daily morning prayer as well as school-wide Rosaries in October and May.
Our school offers weekly "Faithful Fridays," during which students gather for a different activity, such as planning a liturgy, practicing hymns, making a religious craft or hearing a presentation. Each student and teacher has the opportunity to present on one saint throughout the year, sharing their story with the entire school.
Field trips to Catholic sites such as the Our Lady of the Woods Shrine in Mio or the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption help students experience the larger Church.
During Lent, students lead Stations of the Cross and our Tenebrae service on Holy Thursday. Catholic Social Teaching and Works of Mercy are essential elements of our curriculum. Students participate in service projects to help those in need. We offer Advent and Lent family nights as well.
