Today 3rd and 4th grade (all 2 of them) talked about the different names for the day before Ash Wednesday and it's significance.
The different names include Shrove Tuesday, Fat Tuesday, Mardis Gras, and Pancake Day. We talked about how the early Christians needed to get rid of fats and products from flesh animals like milk, eggs and butter. The best way to do this was to make pancakes
